First Assignment: Creative Writing Short Story

Please read the following story which was created on Storybird:

Your Assignment:

• browse through the huge selection of visuals available for use on the Storybird website.
• follow the procedure outlined on p.318 of your Write Source book; that is, find some visuals with CHARACTERS, and think about  how you might create your own character from these pictures.
• Consider a CONFLICT: person vs person; person vs nature; person vs himself/herself.
• SETTING should be easier, because it will be given in the pictures on Storybird;  however, you will need to think how to work the given setting into your story.
• Think about RISING ACTION or events that will make the story interesting.  The pictures should help you in this.
• Write your first draft, and use the ideas on p.319 to START YOUR STORY.  The first draft should be in your notebook, or on a separate sheet of paper.  After I have checked and returned your 1st drafts, you will be able to sign up and start your story:
